Aaj kal ke Emotions..
Emotions. What are they? Do people have time to pause, take a second and embrace them in today’s world?
I am a person who is all about emotions. Love, Joy or Sadness-May it be any, it flows out in extreme but I always take it with a pinch of salt. Let’s start with the most difficult one-Sadness.
In a fast paced world like this, somewhere along the journey, compassion seems to have gone out of the window. Whatever happened to looking out for each other? Are we not in the right frame of mind to take it, do we want to make a person stronger by letting them deal with their own emotions or is it simply because we don’t have time and don’t care?
I believe first and foremost it is our mental health, peace of mind and our self-care that requires tending to. Then comes looking out for our loved ones. As only if we are strong enough, can we pick another person up. Secondly as I rhetorically asked earlier, if we tend to every small emotion of theirs, how are they going to learn to deal with it on their own. So let’s make them stronger and only step in when we need to. YES! They may feel betrayed, left-out and not loved for in that particular moment. But when they calm down, you can head over and have a relaxed conversation about the situation in hand. Thirdly, ignorance is never the answer. Be mindful of their emotions and be there, not to pick them up but to watch them be strong and pick themselves up. This ofcourse highly depends on the intensity of the situation!
Living an emotion is a beautiful feeling! Lets not over-complicate it.
