My first LOVE from a very young age. I still remember swaying to the tunes of Indian Music and the feel it gave me!
Is this an Indian family tradition to get their offspring into a creative art form at a very young age or is it just sheer coincidence? Having said that, my family is no different and I couldn’t thank them enough for introducing me to the World of Dance. It was the beginning of a beautiful journey in my life and it has just gotten better and better from there.
We are a family of Bollywood buffs and ofcourse my first dance style that I experimented with had to be that. Little did I know I was in love with this style! I would dance to my heart’s content not knowing what the steps or the song meant, but it just took me to another world!!

I’d feel like the Heroine of my own life. I then moved on to learning Bharatanatyam- A classical Indian dance form. I was taught by Gurus from different Indian dance schools. I would keep shifting countries due to dad’s job and I just had to get adjusted to a new teacher everytime. I still vividly remember a few ones that stayed in my mind. The no: of dance performances we’ve given on stage on depicting the stories of different gods was just so divine and heavenly. Conveying a story to an audience through the language of dance is simply breath-taking!

Somewhere down the lane, I had left the style of Bollywood behind. Hence I started getting back into and in no time was centre-stage for most dance shows. I had performed with Celebrities and learnt so much throughout the process. Emerged to be a fearless, talented and a passionate Dancer!!

A skill like DANCE doesn’t just teach you the art-form but also many important values in life. It taught me the patience of practice, the discipline of listening to my gurus and learning the style, to be fearless while performing infront of a crowd, brought out the passion I never knew I had, the teamwork and coordination we learnt believing that we together we were better, learning to love myself and being fearless while performing was definitely a different kind of Joy!

So when you learn a talent, it is something that comes along with you for the rest of your LIFE!! Definitely comes into picture peeping in to say HI every now and then. So go figure out your talent, bring out that SPARK today!

If not now, then when?
