New Girl in the City-Pt.1
Where do I start? This Decision, This Trip is the best thing that happened to me.
It is my second last day here and I can’t tell you how grateful I am. My heart is full with so many million experiences which I am all-ready to unfold here!!
Oh, where am I?
TURKIYEE- The land of food, history, love, joy and simply breath-taking views! This place has given me so many beautiful memories & lessons that I don’t think I shall forget for the rest of my life.
My day today started off by my body being sore and not wanting to get out of bed after 10 days of travelling around the city from day to night. But no complaints as that was the only smallest non-optimistic part of my day.
I dragged myself to breakfast as usual rushing before they shut service at 10:30 am. I reach there at 10:10 am everyday..haha..talk about punctuality!
Since I was the last one, my dearest cook Toufa ended up accompanying me for the most scrumptious breakfast I had ever had (scrambled eggs, french toast, sausages, salami, feta cheese, tomatoes and some freshly made Turkish tea) Aaah, sooooo satisfying! As we ate we exchanged conversations over Google Translate. Different worlds yet heartfelt conversations, that’s what I loved about this place.
Then came along two young solo travellers just like me who walked into the breakfast room with absolutely nothing left for them. (Toufa and I shared child-like joys over having swept off the last bits of food.) One Russian & the other Iranian. We’ve exchanged glances at the breakfast room before but I always wonder why we chose the last few days to get talking. From then on it was hours of non-stop chatting about food, cultures, Turkey, solo-travelling, families & the things we loved amongst the three of us. From the breakfast room to the terrace and finally ending up in a coffee shop with the most beautiful view I know off!
Amelie Galata; thats where we settled down, having some Turkish Kahva, Magnolia & San Sebastian’s Cheesecake. A few favourites of the locals there. How could we not gel in, right?
‘When in Turkey, be like the Turkish’. We took that a little too seriously!!
The story of this cafe is for another day as there is sooo much I have to tell you about this beauty. Moving on, as we walked back to our hotel; on the way ended up having so many cute little experiences with the locals. Etched in my mind and captured in my camera, I know I am going to treasure this for a really long time now ❤
